A little bit about fashion and art: “China: Through the Looking Glass” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

I had been meaning to see this exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, but never got around to it until its closing weekend. So, on a lazy Sunday, I dragged myself uptown to see this exhibit curated by Anna Wintour (famous editor of Vogue).

I am no art or fashion critic, as I have mentioned before, but I was really captivated by this exhibit. It perfectly managed to capture how the Chinese aesthetic and culture have influenced Western art and design and vice versa. All of the clothing pieces were beautiful and made me wish that I lived at the MET and could fit into all of the dresses. There were pieces by De la Renta, Balenciaga,Prada etc etc. It was a dream.

Needless to say, it was a Sunday well spent. The colors, patterns, lines, beading, in all of these outfits were everything. I don’t have a particular favorite as I could really wear anything that was on exhibition.

Here are some photos for your enjoyment 🙂 .

I fell in love with fashion, did you?
